Part 1: Ethical and Legal Issues
Select one of the five AEA Principles for Evaluators from https://www.eval.org/p/cm/ld/fid=51 and discuss how it relates to the ethical treatment and consideration of human participants in assessment and the use and interpretation of data. Discuss some of the key issues related to assessing and evaluating various diverse populations such as English Language Learners, students with disabilities, etc. and describe how the selected principle applies. Use the National Council on Measurement in Education. (1995) article and at least one other scholarly source to substantiate your discussion.
Part 2: Accountability
Locate a minimum of two scholarly articles on the relationship between assessment, improvement and accountability and discuss some of the key tensions that have characterized the accountability and improvement purposes of student learning outcomes assessment. Discuss how assessment for improvement is the same as or different from assessment for accountability. What are some ways to manage the tension?
