According to the syllabus, it should include an executive summary. This section should concentrate only on related literature on the topic. It is essential that the literature reviewed be as recent or current as possible. -What have others said about this topic? -What theories address it and what do they say? -What research has been done previously? -Are past findings consistent or do they contradict each other? -Are there any flaws in the body of existing literature that your research can remedy? Is it a replication or a new approach, or on an attack on the limitations of previous studies, or what? In sum, the literature review must: be organized around and related directly to the thesis or research question you are developing, synthesize results into a summary of what is and is not known; identify areas of controversy in the literature; formulate questions that need further research. METHOD OF PROCEEDING: You need to go back at least 10 years in the literature. Review the purpose of study, the nature of the methodology, the kind of data collected, the main results, the significance of the study. You should organize your review of the literature around major themes and issues. You should summarize the research in terms of a particular theme that was striking and important. This will form the thesis statement. NOTE: When you write up the literature review you should divide it into sections that present themes or identify trends, including relevant theory. Essentially, you need to synthesize and evaluate it according to the guiding concept of your thesis or research question. I will upload a few articles that I thought relevant. You can use them or search for another (up to you). I will also upload the introduction of the research proposal.
