New designer outfit, $250; new lipstick, $35; evening bag, $90. A 16-year-old CEO, priceless.
It just sounds like the intro of the clich Mastercard ad. However, theres something different about it. The last sentence, A 16-year-old CEO, priceless seems a bit off. Despite it being hard to believe, its true. At the age of 16, I was a CEO for a clothing company called Classic Theory. My goal when making this company was to sell trendy clothes for an affordable price. Growing up, I always had a hidden passion for fashion. Even though my family was not very well off, I made sure that the way I dressed was always superior. The struggles I had because of my financial status helped me to realize how I could better help out the unfortunate.

In the beginning, I failed a lot. I struggled with academics and I was afraid that I would let myself down as well as my parents. I would have to find a way to balance studying with working. However, this was easier said than done. I began to spend more and more time on my company, which meant my grades were suffering. I would study for half the time I usually would and as a result my grades in school were slowly sinking.

After two months, the amount of customers started to decline and I was beginning to realize that I should get back to my studies. The courses I was taking at that time were all either honors or AP so I had a lot of work to do before I could catch up. However, I believed in myself and my work ethics and was finally able to catch up within a few weeks.

Human beings have a creative side that tends to shine most when we are truly invested in the world around us. The creative side of me was able to come out when I offered my talents and experiences to those around me. Helping out the less fortunate and offering them my help, allowed me to come to an epiphany that there will always be people who are less fortunate than me and I will always be able to help in some way whether itd be supplying them with clothes or donating money. I want to use Boston College as a stepping stone so I continue to help those around me.

I am very ambitious in terms of helping others. My goal in life is to work hard in order to help out the less fortunate. In order to carry out this plan, I will need the help of Boston College. My ambition and passion are nothing without a solid infrastructure and what better infrastructure could I ask for than Boston College?
