Read Patrick Olivelle\’s intro to his Manu\’s law Code, which is on your Blackboard. Read the table of contents. See if Manu was ever really implemented by any king in his kingdom. See how it was taken as authoritative Hindu law by the British and examine the problems they faced in actually implementing it. If you have the book, you may see some of the details of his laws. But even a table of contents should you give you an idea of how much of the book was aimed at Brahmins.
