During this season, several of the scientists become afflicted with various medical conditions.
Scientist Chen is a 35-year-old Chinese male who has been having palpitations on and off that at times result in headaches. Scientist Sanchez is a 48-year-old Colombian female that has been complaining of pain in her abdomen associated with cramps. She is postmenopausal and has a history of ovarian cancer in her family. Scientist Jones is a 27-year-old American male that has been steadily becoming more argumentative with his fellow scientists.
